Because they were best friends. I didn’t even know they were shipped until I saw a weird forum based only on that and my eyebrows rose to the fucking heavens in wonder and surprise. Although, perhaps Gabrielle was into Xena, seeing as how she got together only with Perdicus… But Xena belongs with Ares. That’s my opinion.

And the Roman pouted when Mars spoke of dropping her like a nasty habit. I adore Livia, but she doesn’t stand above Xena and Ares.
