spartacus ♦ the dead and the dying - burial of crixus
”This night, hearts lift in joyous reunion with those thought lost to us - fathers, brothers and sisters, sons and lovers. Hold them close, for the shadow of Rome is upon us. We shall seek our destiny together…whatever the cost. Yet let us not pass from memory those left absent from our arms, those who sacrificed their lives so that all may live free!
For Crisux! For Sura! For Varro and Mira! For Oenomaus! For Diotimus! For Rhaskos! For Shellus! For Donar! For Duro! Ako! Fortus! Barca! Nemetes! Wiskes! FOR CRIXUS!
Split heavens with the sound of his name, let it carry to Crassus and Pompey, as distant thunder promising storm and blood! All those who are able, we will make final stand against Rome, and this I promise you - we will live free or join our brothers in death! “
My confession. And just to think of the fact that I disliked her character not even three days ago. But all the horrible comments that people have been throwing at her made me reconsider her “why” and her “what for”, and now I understand her perfectly. She’s officially in my favourite characters list.
My confession. It’s true that among all the other characters of the show, the love Crixus and Naevia share is the purest in my definition of love.
Times like this is when I wonder if Steven DeKnight has written a totally different show specifically for one person. And I fail to see how Naevia crying and screaming for Crixus makes her less a warrior. We have seen everyone one of those gladiators cry like a fucking baby. And yet no one questions whether they are a warrior. This is a prime example of irrational hate that Naevia gets.
I’m not too fond of Naevia, but I totally agree (with the comment, not the confession).
